Seabird numbers have doubled in four years

FIM Capital Beach Buddies has been told that the number of seabirds successfully breeding on the northwest coast of the Isle of Man has doubled in the last four years.

This coincides almost exactly with the amount of time that Beach Buddies' volunteers have been operating regular beach cleaning sessions along this stretch of coastline, especially in the early part of the year, prior to the bird nesting season.

If we have contributed in any way to these exceptional figures, then this is really great news – and a very positive incentive to anyone wanting to get involved in protecting the Isle of Man's seabird populations.
